Information - VGP27 Exhumation of rocks metamorphosed under extreme conditions. UHP and UHT complexes: mechanisms, rates, models

Event Information
Growing evidence for occurrences of rocks metamorphosed under ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) and/or ultrahigh-temperature (UHT) conditions require interdisciplinary efforts for understanding of geological processes related to their exhumation toward the Earths’ surface.
In the present session we would like to summarize latest results, concepts and models for these extreme types of metamorphism, including data on P-T-aH2O-time-deformation paths, cooling/exhumation rates, numerical experiments etc.
We encourage contributions from petrologists, modelers, geochronologists and geochemistrists to identify the outstanding problems and issues in this area.
