Information - TS6 Textures, Micostructures, Deformation processes & Rheology

Event Information
The identification of deformation processes and the determination of deformation mechanisms are key prerequisites for any meaningful quantification of rock rheology. For this approach microstructures and textures form the most important tools to link observations with theory in experimental and natural data sets. The application of conventional as well as newly developed analysis techniques has taught us a lot about individual processes and their interaction in the deformation of silicates and other rock forming minerals. However, many aspects of textures and microstructures are still poorly understood, and new questions have arisen. This session welcomes contributions from natural, experimental, modeling and theoretical studies involving microstructures and textures in relation to rheology.
