Information - GM19 Climatic and human controlled fluvial geomorphology
Event Information
Fluvial landforms and processes are not only highly influenced by climate and human interference, they also contain many signatures and archives for helping us understand climate evolution and human activity. In particular, fluvial records and landforms can reveal much about links between human activities and climate. The relation between fluvial geomorphology and the external forcing factors, both climatic and anthropogenic, is clearly dependent on the timescale, because of the importance of intermediaries like vegetation and weathering in delivering the effects. We invite contributions pertaining to these relationships dealing with timescales varying from decadal up to glacial - interglacial cycles. Contributions linking different timescales would be especially welcome.
