Information - IS10 - G17/HS1.7/NH10.4 Ground Movement: Measurements, Subsurface Causes, and Interpretation (co-organized by G, HS & NH; co-listed in GM)

Event Information
In this multidisciplinary session we aim at bringing together experts in the fields of geodesy, reservoir engineering, hydrology and related sciences in order to explore the full scope of ground movement research. We welcome contributions on the individual aspects of measuring ground movements (e.g. InSAR, GPS, Benchmarking), the subsurface causes of ground movement (e.g. hydrocarbon, water or brine production, surface loading by infrastructure/buildings, peat oxidation, earthquakes, volcanic activity), modelling and interpreting ground movement, as well as research which incorporates the whole chain from measurements to interpretation. The timing of this interdivisional session is of the greatest importance considering the significant societal impact of ground movement, especially in the light of current predictions of climate change and the subsequently induced sea level fluctuations.
