Information - ERE7 Petroleum: Composition, biodegradation and Modelling
Event Information
A rigorous approach of petroleum system analysis and modelling is without doubt beneficial for both exploration and environment. This session aims at presenting recent advances in petroleum system modelling and the subsequent applications. The speakers should focus their presentations emphasize one (or more) of the following points:
- the importance of the quality of input parameters into petroleum systems models that underpin exploration
- how it improves the understanding of sedimentary basin evolution, sequence stratigraphy and the evolution of the biosphere,
- applications, such as the prediction of the formation and dissociation of gas hydrates in response to global warming and cooling.
