  Information - HS8.7 Production, transport, and emission of trace gases from the vadose zone to the atmosphere (co-listed in BG)

Event Information
In the last few years a growing interest raised in understanding and quantifying trace gas emissions from natural ecosystems. Nevertheless, there are many uncertainties associated with description of the processes controlling soil-atmosphere trace gas exchange. This limits our ability to predict these fluxes which are necessary for regional and global chemistry and transport modelling. Various experiments have yielded useful but sometimes also limited insight for estimating and predicting ecosystem response to climate change and management practice. An improved understanding using experimental and modelling tools is therefore crucial for future climate predictions.

This session is addressed for both experimental scientists and modellers from various communities to present their latest research ranging from laboratory to the catchments or regional scale.
