Information - SSP14/MPRG13 Cyclostratigraphy and magnetostratigraphy (co-organised by MPRG)
Event Information
Magnetostratigraphy and cyclostratigraphy have become important tools for integrated high-resolution stratigraphic correlations, moreover, they are essential for developing geologic time scales with an unprecedented resolution and accuracy. This session aims to gather contributions related to such time scales and their application in paleoclimate reconstructions, in timing of tectonic, biostratigraphic events and sea level change, in evaluating orbital forced cyclicity, high-resolution time scales and astronomical models, and in establishing continental-marine correlations. We especially invite contributions related to magnetostratigraphy/cyclostratigraphy of the Cenozoic and Mesozoic based on marine as well as continental sequences.
Preliminary List of Solicited Speakers
