Emissions Offset

We encourage all participants of the conference to investigate possibilities to travel to Toulouse by train. Should you decide to travel by air you may consider to offset travel related emissions through donations for solar, bio-mass or energy-efficiency projects:

Local Transport

 

From Toulouse city centre to Météopole

By Metro: plan for around 30 minutes travel time.

The Metro Line A runs from the centre of Toulouse (stations Marengo SNCF, Jean Jaurès, Capitole, Esquirol or Saint-Cyprien République) to "Basso Cambo", the final stop. This takes about 15 minutes.

At "Basso Cambo" take bus no. 8, the direction "Lycée Polyvalent" is given at the front of the bus.
Get off at stop "Météorologie". The trip by bus normally takes 5 minutes. Please check the current valid time table shortly before you travel to Toulouse. More information on the public transport system in Toulouse is available in French. You can also find information on wheelchair access (in French).

The Metro runs every 3 to 5 minutes during the day: Time table metro

Bus no. 8 runs every 10 to 15 minutes during the day: Time table for bus no. 8

In addition, a shuttle bus service is provided from Métro Basso Cambo to Météopole at the following times:

Monday, 28 September 2009: 08:45–10:15 and 20:00–21:30
Tuesday, 29 September 2009: 08:00–09:00 and 19:00–20:00
Wednesday, 30 September 2009: 08:00–09:00
Thursday, 01 October 2009: 08:00–09:00 and 19:00–20:00

 

The shuttle bus will wait 30 meters outside the Métro, near the city buses (you can walk left or right when you exit the station, you will see easily the coach).

By Car

If you approach Toulouse on the motorway "Paris-Bordeaux", follow "Foix-Tarbes" direction; you are on the ring. Take Exit 27 "La Cépière". Follow "Cugnaux", then "Les Pradettes" and "Météo-CERFACS".

If you approach Toulouse on the motorway "Montpellier-Carcassonne", follow "Aéroport de Blagnac" (airport sign). On the ring take EXit 27 "La Cépière/Cugnaux" and then, as above.

From the airport to Météopole and Toulouse centre

On Monday morning a shuttle bus will be provided from the airport to Météopole.

The bus will wait at the bus parking: turn left when you exit the airport building, and just follow the pavement along the taxi queue to the very end of it (near the car rental offices).

Departure times at the airport are: 08:00, 08:45, 09:30, 10:15, 11:00, 11:45.

On Friday, at 13:30, a shuttle bus will be provided from Météopole to the airport.

A taxi from the airport to Météo-France will take 15 minutes and cost around €20.

You may also take the Airport/Town centre Bus to Toulouse city centre. Buses leave every 20 minutes; the travel time to the centre is around 20 minutes. Single tickets cost €4, return fare €6.30.

To continue to Météopole, get off at Métro Station Jean Jaurès and take Metro Line A. Follow further instructions under "From Toulouse city centre to Météopole".
