Travel to the Venue

From Madrid airport to El Escorial railway station

The Metro (underground train) connects the airport with Madrid railway station at “Nuevos Ministerios”. There are Metro stations in terminal 2, at walking distance from terminals 1 & 3, and in Terminal 4. Trains depart every 5 minutes, and travel time to Nuevos Ministerios (last stop) is 12 minutes from Terminal 2 and 15 minutes from Terminal 4. Ticket price is only 2 € . Ten-trips tickets, also valid for groups, are sold for 7 €.

In Nuevos Ministerios, without leaving the underground complex, change to the railway station (RENFE), purchase your RENFE ticket and wait for the next train of line C8a direct to El Escorial at the platform announced on the screens. Services are quite frequent, see the time table below. The journey takes approximately one hour and the single ticket price is 3.15€. For departure times see time table below.

If you wish to take a taxi from the airport, the Chamartin station is the most convenient one to go to. For departure times from Chamartin station see time table below.

From El Escorial station to the conference venue

Euroforum is in San Lorenzo de El Escorial 2 km uphill from the railway station. There is a frequent bus service to San Lorenzo bus station, 100 metres from Euroforum. See the map.

From Madrid city to El Escorial

The same trains described above can be boarded at other train stations in Madrid: Atocha, Recoletos and Chamartin, for departures see time table above.

There is also a frequent bus service from Madrid to El Escorial. Buses depart at Moncloa bus station, the final (northern) stop of Metro Line 3, in the west of the city.
