2010 Vienna Catchment Science Symposium

This one-day meeting will be held on Saturday, 08 May 2010 the day after the EGU meeting in Vienna.

This is a small informal meeting focused around several full-length talks, mini-workshops and a lot of unstructured conversation, as a contrast to the frenzy of 15-minute talks and countless posters at EGU. The overall theme is "hydrological change" and related topics such as model structure and hydrological planning.

Doors will open at 8:30 AM with coffee, breakfast edibles and greetings. The meeting will start at 9:30, featuring three ~45 minute talks and associated discussion, with breaks in between for lunch and snacks. In the afternoon we will have hands-on sessions or mini-workshops to allow more in depth discussion of, say, how one selects a model structure for a given catchment or how one represents changing catchment dynamics. The day will finish off with an opportunity for short "pop-up" presentations by attendees as the spirit moves them, followed by dinner.

Confirmed speakers are Hubert Savenije, Siva Sivapalan and Pete Loucks.

Logistics: The Meeting will be held in the Festsaal of the Vienna University of Technology (www.tuwien.ac.at). Free food and drinks will be served. To make arrangements please sign up no later than 15 April 2010 by writing an email to Dr. Gemma Carr carr@waterresources.at
