The EGU General Assembly 2008 will be held at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) in Vienna, Austria, from 13 – 18 April 2008.

The EGU General Assembly will bring together geoscientists and space and planetary scientists from all over Europe and the rest of the world into one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth and Planetary Sciences: geology, geomorphology, geochemistry, geophysics, geobiology and hazards research as well as planetary and space sciences alike.

Last year, more than 8,000 scientists attended the assembly. More are expected to attend this year with more than 4,000 oral contributions and 7,000 posters in 400 thematic sessions, "Union and Educational Symposia", short courses and workshops, "Key Note and Medal Lectures" and "Townhall Meetings" as well as separate meetings of working groups.
